Lisa Russell is a design junkie with a passion for sustainability. She brings 14+ years experience working on interior and product design, materials specification, manufacturing processes, transportation, and end-of-life management issues specific to retailers.

Her notable work includes creating low-cost, high efficiency sustainable design for portfolio-wide rollout for companies such as Harley-Davidson and McDonald’s. From this Lisa learned the importance of branding and integrated design and believes that successful sustainability programs go beyond focus on a singular issue to having a holistic, integrated approach.

Most recently, Lisa worked with the Association for Retail Environments (A.R.E) to integrate sustainability into its organization as well as create tools for members to guide them on implementing sustainability programs and on issues including understanding the impact areas throughout their product lifecycle phase. She also authored A.R.E.’s most recent sustainable publication, “Sustainable Retail Environments: Product Guidelines and Operational Best Practices.” Lisa has been a LEED for Retail Core Committee member and part of the USGBC’s Education Provider Program since 2007. She views sustainability as a mechanism for continuous improvement and innovation.
